GID International Group was launched in 2006 to grow and diversify GID's global investment portfolio. The group engages in international real estate investing and seeks above-average, risk-adjusted returns by investing in vertically integrated real estate operating companies and development projects in high growth international markets. In addition to providing equity and preferred equity to joint venture development projects, GID International has also invested in companies that provide structured financing, asset management and development services in Brazil and India. Seeking to capitalize on the rapid demand for middle income housing and mispriced risk in emerging markets, GID has provided funding for several real estate ventures and has approximately 3 million square feet of residential development underway in Brazil and India. The group continues to pursue additional investment and development opportunities in emerging markets including Brazil, selected South American countries and India.
